My First Mothers Day 2012

I had a great first mothers day!  I am so blessed to be a mother, sometimes I feel like I need to pinch myself to see if it is real! I don't know why God chose me but I am so greatful!!  We woke up Sunday morning. It was very rainy, but when I went in to get my sweet little girl, she had a gift waiting for me in bed! In her I love Mommy sleeper!

They got me a open hearts necklace. Ellis said that  it was because our hearts will always be connected! So sweet! We got ready for church, and went with Ellis' Mom and grandmother. It is a very small church. They give a flower for the youngest mother, youngest child, mother with the most children present, oldest mother. I won a flower needless to say, and was a little embarrased, standing up infront of the whole church. We went back to Meme's house for lunch of Mark's feed store. We didn't take very many pictures it was a rainy day, we went back home, and me and Addyson took a nap together a 3 hour nap!! It was heavenly! After we got up, all  the rain had cleared out, and we got a few shots of me and my girl!

We went to my moms and visited for a couple hours, and then went and had dinner. We were home]
and in jammies on and cuddled on the couch.

(Laughing at my mom trying to get Addyson to smile as you can see it didn't work!)

It was a wonderful day with our loving families. I am so blessed to be called a mother. Praying everyday that I can be the best example to my daughter. Also praying for those who are trying to become a mother, pregnant, or have lost a baby! God has a plan! Trust him always!

SUYL-New Mom

If you are stopping by from Kelly's Korner for SUYL WELCOME TO MY BLOG! :) If you would like to follow along then welcome!  If you have been reading my blog for the past four months, then you know that this is something the only thing that I talk about!!!  If you are a new mommy also, please feel free to follow along our adventure, I would love to get and receive advice, and follow you and your little ones stories also! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Our little girl Addyson Lynn was born December 20,2011 at 7:38 pm Via C-section.
I was put on bed rest at 36 weeks, and Addyson was born at 39, they were afraid she was to big! Ultrasound was measuring 10.12!!! Yikes! But she came out absolutely perfect and we were instantly captivated!

Our worlds have forever changed for the better.
She has her daddy's baby blue eyes, and blonde hair it looks like is going to be. Little girl loves to eat, talk and watch anything that is going on. I joke that she is nosy, but she is so observant! Learning so much!
I have been working on making sure to document absolutely everything I can about her, because it has already gone so fast! (Four almost 5 months!)
We are a breastfeeding, and using all natural disposables through the Honest Company.

We are striving to raise her in a God centered Christian home. Addyson is a very laid back baby, she loves to go with the flow, and just observes everything around her. She loves to smile, take baths, be cuddled, ride in the car, go on walks, talk to anyone and everyone who will listen, She is developing such a wonderful sweet personality. I know God knew what he was doing when he gave me a daughter. I love being able to dress her up, play with her hair, bows and shoes. I cannot wait to play dress up and tea parties one day. To take her to movies, and shopping, and everything wonderful that my mom and grandmother did for me when I was younger. Those memories are priceless and I can only hope to make those with Addyson, and to be half of the mother to Addyson as mine was to me!
I feel so blessed to be called her mother. We have recently started baby food, I am trying to make it for her and she is loving it so far! I have fun making it and it is so easy and cheap! We are working on sitting up on our own, and think rolling over is going to come much later, because she dislikes tummy time with a passion. She recently started giggling on her own, without being tickled or prompted, and I love the sound so much! Nothing better than hearing your baby laugh or giggle with pure joy!
She never ceases to amaze us with learning something new, or just making us smile. The love a parent experiences with a child is amazing.
I so look forward to spending the years watching her grow, and learn. She completes a part of us that we never even knew that was missing. I will continue to document our journey of parenting this wonderful little girl, as frequently as time allows. Working full time, being a wife and mommy, managing a 31 business, and squeezing everything else in at the same time can be a little hectic at times. But, I wouldn't have it any other way!
If you are a new mommy also, please feel free to follow along our adventure, I would love to get and receive advice, and follow you and your little ones stories also!  Happy First Mother's Day to us this weekend! How exciting! Thanks so much for stopping by!

A night in the life of a working mommy

Thought it would be neat to document a little of how our nights go during the week. I get off work at 5:30. Driving home from downtown, I saw this at a red light. In the midst of thinking about all that I had to do, God is letting me know, that he is bigger than any worry, fear or earthly problem. It made me be thankful for having a house to come home to to clean, and food to worry about preparing for my family, and thankful for the laundry that we have to wear everyday. He molds me each day, and constantly is showing his grace and love, even though I am so unworthy. I come in the door, put away the milk that has been pumped for Addyson during the day, put my lunchbox away, and look for Addyson and Daddy. They are usually laying in the floor playing or in her room, today they were watching TV together. I kiss Ellis, and scoop up my little girl, soaking up that wonderful scent of baby and stealing some kisses and smiles.
Daddy comes in the kitchen with us, and I start on dinner. He has  already emptied the dishwasher and defrosted ground turkey for dinner! I thank him for his help, because that makes my life so much easier. I feed the puppies, and start to work for dinner. Thank God for easy pintrest recipies,

While I cooked dinner daddy fed this little girl some bananas. We have started some baby food, and she loves bananas so much. But every time we pull out the camera this is the face we get lately. As soon as it is back up, she will smile and talk all day.

After she finished, daddy played toys at the table while  I finished dinner. She sat in her chair at the table with us while we ate, and the game she played was throw your toys and see who's food or drink we can get it into!
Mommy bought these little bath toys because we are starting to sit up during bath time, and love our new bathroom (another post also!) Mommy is going to look for a chair to sit in this weekend in the tub!

Here is another face "Mom, I am not going to smile while you have that out!" We got out of tubby time, then lotioned up, got our jommies on, and had a bottle, and fell asleep.

Ellis and I were watching something on TV, so instead of putting her in bed, We snuggled her a little bit longer. I love holding her and watching her sleep, her little eyes flickering in her dreams. We carried her to her room, prayed over her, tucked her in and put on the sound machine. I did the dishes, and the laundry, hung out with Ellis a little, and then went to bed. I feel like our nights are so full, I don't get as much time as I would like to spend with her, and Ellis too! but I try to wait until she is in bed to do any chores that can wait. She is only going to be this small once, playing with her and watching her learn and grow is most important. I pray that God will calm my heart with worrying about everything. I know he can handle it, I just need to make sure I am giving it all to him every day!

SUYL-Finding Friends

Hello, to visitors from SUYL! Welcome to my blog!! I hope you enjoy! If you decide to stay then welcome! :) I started this blog about a year ago just to keep up with our little newlywed life, found a world of ideas, and a opportunity to make new friends, strengthen my faith, and experience new things!I am a daughter of Christ, forgiven by grace and striving daily to glorify him. I am 23 going on 24 in November, We live in Louisville KY,(Home of the Kentucky Derby!) have been married for four years on September 19th, to Ellis my wonderful husband, he is my soul mate. I could not have asked God for a better match! We welcomed our first child  a precious daughter Addyson Lynn on December 20th 2011. I never knew the love that you can experience as a mother, but delight in the fact that God has in trusted me with her earthly care, she amazes me on a daily basis and makes both of our lives better! I have one brother, and Ellis has a sister. We hope to have three or four children one day, if the Lord sees fit. I mostly honestly blog about her and our adventures as a family together, weather it be frustrations, a new recipe, random pictures, updates about addyson. I want my blog to be a way to help others in someway, as well as a diary to look back and remember how things have changed, and smile. I try to be as real and honest as possible. I work full time and and am a mommy and wife first, so I may not be able to post as often as other bloggers. (But, I always read, so make sure to send me your links!)
We have three doggies, and they are our first babies, Ruby, Gracie and Maggie. So poor Ellis is the only male in the house! We love to laugh, and be silly camping, boating, gardening, crafting, cooking new recipes, pintrest of course! (ha)Going to church, photography, shopping, homemaking when possible.
.Some of our hobbies are spending time with family and our sweet baby girl

Addyson 4 Month Doctor Checkup

We had our four month checkup, the doctor said that you are very strong. You weighed  16.15 and were 26 inches long. We saw Charla. You are developing great, and are very social for your age. We got your four month shots again. We gave you some Tylenol before we left the doctor's office, hoping we wouldn't have the same reaction to your shots as last time. You did fine for about three hours, but again after you woke up from a nap, we knew that your legs were in pain .

We spent most of the day after that in comfy jammies, lounging around the house. The next day you were your normal happy self! The doctor said you are very healthy, and we wouldn't need to come back until your six month appointment!

Addyson 4 Months Old

Dear Addyson,

I think it is time to make some four month updates since you are now five months going on six in a few weeks. I know that I said this last month, but seriously little girl, slow down. The time is flying by to quickly! you have changed so much, It is mixed emotions for mommy, because although I want time to slow down, I want to be right by your side for every milestone and memory that you make sweet angel.
Your firsts this month

-Balloon Glow
-Derby
-Thunder over Louisville
-First time eating cereal/bananas
-First Mother's day
-First Finger painting
-Playing peekaboo
-Laughing out loud at something Mommy or Daddy did without being tickled or touched
-Family Pictures

About you
You are so busy now! From the time you wake up you are smiling and on the go.  You love to watch whatever is going on around you. You are so observant and want to soak up the world around you. You love to sit outside and watch the cars go by and all the colors. The grocery store is fascinating to you with everything that there is to look at. You are learning so much so fast, it makes my heart swell with pride whenever you do or learn something new. It is the best feeling in the world! You coo and speak gibberish to us constantly. Your newest thing is growling or grunting at everyone! It is so cute.

How your eating
You took a big turn in this area this month. Mommy could not keep up with your eating. You were wanting to eat constantly, and neither one of us were doing well with that. We added substituting formula into your diet. This has helped both of us tremendously. You are still being breastfeed when I am with you, and Ms. Kim feeds you the milk I pump throughout the day, but you have a mixture of both. You don't seem to mind the transition, and everyone is much happier. You are full, and mommy isn't as stressed about pumping constantly!

How your sleeping
Your still our amazing little sleeper. You sleep from about 8:30-9 until about 7 in the morning, and that is mommy coming in and waking you up to get dressed to go to Ms. Kim's house. On the weekends sometimes you will sleep in sometimes not, just depends on how hungry you are! We are so grateful that you love to sleep like mommy and daddy do!
What you like
-Riding in the car
-Church-you just sit and listen to worship
-Going for walks
-Snuggling with mommy or daddy in the mornings/before you go to bed
-Your Passy
-Music
-Staring at mommy, it is so sweet you follow me around the room with your eyes! I love it!
-Staring at the ceiling or ceiling fans
-Any bright colors
-You love baths! You just lay there and watch me, and feel the water.
-Being held-What can we say, we love looking at you, I feel empty when I put you down!
-Being read too, sung too and talked too, you just listen and take it all in.
-Soft blankets, you run the blanket through your little fingers, and all over your face
-Your cheeks being rubbed
-Your hands being on your face, you always have them close, just like your 3D Ultrasound.
-Being snuggled

What you don't like
-Getting in the car is not your favorite thing, but once we are moving you are good.
-Getting dressed, is not your favorite thing.
-Being changed if your hungry
-Not being in the same room/area as mommy or daddy.
